Hunting White Tail Deer - We Have Success!

Our early November hunt was unsuccessful. It was fun but we had no luck on the hog or deer hunting. Were not going to let that deter us from going every chance we got to try, try again! We were invited to some friends property further west of us that has a lot of white tail deer. In fact they have so many white tail deer that the property owner asked us to come down to help him reduce the white tail doe population.

I am sure most of you know that last weekend was opening weekend for deer rifle season. My friend, Phil, called and said "Hey let's go hunting!". Like I was going to say no to that! I knew the property we were going to be hunting not only had deer but also had a wild hog population that I was wanting to decrease. I figured deer hunting from dawn to dusk and then hog hunting by moonlight. Yes, hog hunting at night and spotlighting hogs is legal in Texas.

Just stop the whining and go to the range and shoot! Some days I just feel like I am going to scream if I hear one more person tell me "I had meant to get to the range but it's just too hot right now." or "It's too cold" or "It's raining".

It wasn't that long ago that I did an article about what happens when you put your hand in the wrong place on a semi-automatic handgun. I showed you pictures of the nasty gash that was made by the slide when it caught the hand of my friend when she inadvertently put her left hand over her right hand. So what's the big deal about putting your left hand over your right hand? It puts your left hand directly in the line of the power of your gun slide racking back with a force that can cause serious damage.

Another NRA backed bill has passed and been signed by Governor Rick Perry. The bill was signed back in May but went into effect September 1, 2011. The bill, which is being refered to as the Employee Parking Lot bill,was actually represented incorrectly on many of the local news stations.
